Thanks for your interest in the commission process!
Creating custom artwork is my absolute favourite thing. Nothing can top the experience and satisfaction of actually getting to know my customers' first hand -- understanding their needs and working together to create something truly unique they'll be able to cherish forever.
I truly believe art is an investment you'll never regret because it feeds your spirit. I love getting messages from my collectors' letting me know they love their piece -- That every day it makes them smile or reminds them of a special moment in their lives.
My goal with all of my work is to create a piece that is fully tailored to you and your space.

Frequently asked questions
If you have any additional questions not listed here please feel free to contact me.
I'd love to hear from you!
What is the process like?
Once I receive your commission request I'll be in touch to arrange a time for our free consultation. I require 50% deposit upon agreement, with the remainder due once the painting has been completed. I will send you an invoice for the deposit which can be paid with credit card, e-transfer or with cash if you are local. Once the deposit has been paid I will add you to my calendar and start painting! I like to create small studies for larger pieces to help make sure we're on the same page in terms of colours and composition before beginning the final artwork. As soon as it's completed I'll send you photos of your lovely custom painting and will happily complete any revisions that you might need. Please take a look at the Custom Artwork Info Package for more details.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Pricing depends on the size of the piece. For a complete price list please take a look at the Custom Artwork Info Package.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The length of time depends on my workload. Watercolour paintings are completed between 2-4 weeks. Oil paintings are completed within 6-8 weeks (including drying time). Please keep in mind this time frame when ordering an oil painting as it is important for the paint to fully cure prior to shipping. Please check out the Custom Artwork Info Package for more details.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO SHIP?
The cost of shipping depends on the size and weight of the piece. The customer is responsible for all shipping charges. I always get a shipping quote before the commission agreement is made and will send you that information along with the quote for the painting. If you are local, please contact me and we can arrange for delivery or pick-up from my studio.
WILL YOU COPY A PREVIOUS PAINTING?
Many of my commissions are based on a previously sold painting. It's important to me that my collectors feel that they own a one-of-a-kind original artwork and that their special piece won't be hanging elsewhere. That being said, I will work in the spirit, feel or colours of a previous piece while still keeping each work unique.
WHAT SIZES CAN I ORDER?
Any size you like! Watercolour paper comes in a variety of sizes and I can also cut a piece to specific dimensions that you need. Canvases for oil paintings also come in a wide range of sizes, or I can build a frame to match the size you require. Please check out the Custom Artwork Info Package for a list of sizes.
do you frame the artwork?
All of my work is sold un-framed. I prefer that my collector's choose their own frames to make sure it is exactly to their taste and style. However, I am happy to recommend different framing options for you. I also work with some excellent local framers and can assist you in making those arrangements. All of my oil paintings are completed on premium stretched gallery canvas which are approximately 1.75" deep. The sides are also painted so they look lovely hung as-is and do not require framing.
can you assist me in hanging the artwork?
I currently do not hang artwork for my clients. However, I work with great companies that offer professional installation services and would be happy to help you make those arrangements. If you are in the GTA please feel free to take a look at Artstall for more information.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND?
My goal is to create a painting you'll love forever so I'm happy to make revisions until the piece is what you want it to be. If, for some reason, you're still not happy with it you may use your 50% deposit as store credit.
