Blooms & Watercolours Workshop
SEPTEMBER 24, 2017
10:30AM - 5PM
Living Fresh Flower Studio
20 Queen St. South. Kitchener, ON N2G 1V6 (View location on map)
Stephanie (@stephaniefehrenbach) and Living Fresh Flower Studio (@living_fresh) have teamed up to create this one-of-a-kind workshop to help you gain practical knowledge and understanding of both floral design & watercolour painting! Spend the morning surrounded by beautiful blooms and learn to create your very own fresh floral arrangement. In the afternoon, we'll be using your gorgeous creations as the inspiration for a beautiful watercolour painting.
All supplies will be provided + refreshments. You'll leave the workshop with your own floral arrangement, a finished piece of art & a complete workbook with step-by-step guides. You'll have all the knowledge you need to continue practicing and making your very own creations at home!
Here's what you'll learn: No experience NECESSARY!
Part 1: Floral Design with Tina & Deb from Living Fresh Studio (10:30am-1pm)
Working with lush, garden flowers in the cold winter months is a treat like no other. It is always spring or summertime somewhere in the world and we know just how to get our hands on these seasonal beauties. During the morning half of this full day workshop you will work closely with the instructors of Living Fresh to create a naturally flowing, organic vase arrangement. The Living Fresh designers will demonstrate the various techniques required to design a loose, "uncontrived" style through precise flower placement.
Part 2: Floral Watercolour with Stephanie Fehrenbach (2pm - 5pm)
There's nothing better than painting from life! In this session, Stephanie will be sharing her process of painting abstract florals inspired by the lovely arrangements created with Tina & Deb. Perfect for beginners or those looking to add a looser approach to their work; Stephanie will start the class with the basics of watercolour painting including her process of colour blending, layering, and mixing your own unique palette. She'll then be sharing her step-by-step process for creating individual blooms & greenery and will teach you how to put it all together to create a finished composition you'll be proud to frame!
