These experiments were so much fun!
These little tests are only 12" x 12". But since I'm so used to working large with my oils, I've been feeling a little limited with the size of watercolour paper. I love working in this medium so much I wanted to see if there was a way to work larger, and I love how these ones turned out. A whole new series of larger works on canvas will be coming soon!
Did some research and the best way to prep the canvas is to paint a few layers of Golden Absorbent Ground over top of the gesso. This prepares the canvas to act more like paper and absorb the water and pigment. After they dry they need a coat of protective varnish and they're ready to hang!
